From the time I was 12 years old I knew I wanted to teach cooking.

Tina Wasserman is the best-selling author of Entree to Judaism: A Culinary Exploration of the Jewish Diaspora  and Entrée to Judaism for Families: Cooking and Kitchen Conversations with Children. An award-winning cooking instructor specializing in contemporary Jewish cuisine, Tina holds BS and MA degrees in Foods and Education from Syracuse University and New York University. Tina was the food columnist for Reform Judaism magazine for over ten years, and is presently the food editor/writer for  ReformJudaism.org. In 1994, Tina was elected to Les Dames d’Escoffier, an international culinary society that honors select women in the food and beverage industry.

In addition to her own website, Tina contributes to Interfaith Family, Joy of Kosher, Kosher Eye and Ten Minutes of Torah as well as many blogs on the internet. Tina’s recipes and articles have been published in the New York Times, The Washington Post, Dallas / Fort family-with-grandma-1Worth papers, the JTA and numerous Jewish newspapers syndicated nationally. She has appeared on local TV, Good Morning America, CBS and National and local NPR radio. Tina travels to communities across North America as Scholar in Residence at synagogues, JCC’s and Universities teaching Jewish culinary traditions. She has also been an invited instructor at Limmud in England as well as in the United States.

Tina serves on the URJ Camp Newman board in California, the National Board of ARZA and the regional AJC executive board.  She lives in Dallas, Texas with her husband (who she met in USY!). They are the proud parents of two grown children who were exposed to her culinary experiments for years!
